DPR RI Fully Supports Jambaran - Tiung Biru Gas Project

Bojonegoro (19/11) - Commission VII of the DPR RI fully supports the Jambaran-Tiung Biru (JTB) Unitization Field Gas Development Project managed by PT Pertamina EP Cepu (PT Pertamina EP Cepu) as part of efforts to secure national energy security. PT Pertamina EP Cepu is one of Pertamina's Subsidiaries in the Upstream Oil and Gas sector currently working on a National Strategic Project in the oil and gas sector in Bojonegoro, East Java.
This was confirmed by the Chairman of Commission VII DPR RI Sugeng Suparwoto during a specific working visit to the JTB Project in Bojonegoro, East Java on Thursday (19/11).
He explained that this visit was one of the DPR's efforts to support the smooth implementation of the JTB Project. "With this visit, we can see firsthand what the conditions in the field are like, so we can also find out in detail what obstacles are in the field," said Sugeng.
According to him, the gas issue also has other supporting aspects that must also be considered. Among other things, infrastructure support such as gas network to distribute the gas after production. "We certainly fully support this JTB project so that it can operate immediately," he added.
The operation of the JTB Project will later provide an important supply for national energy. It is hoped that the JTB Gas Field can start flowing gas in the 4th Quarter of 2021 with peak production reaching 192 MMSCFD.
Meanwhile, while giving an explanation, PT Pertamina EP Cepu President Director Awang Blueuardi explained, in this Covid-19 pandemic situation, several other projects around the world experienced execution delays or some even got cancelled. However, the JTB project can still run, with the achievement of several milestones, namely the completion of Plug & Abandon Works in 1 well and Drilling in 6 production wells which are faster than the targeted time. Likewise with the completion of rigless work and well testing in 4 production wells with very encouraging results.
The results of the well testing show that the production per well is more than 60 MMSCFD.
"In total, in this project, we have reached 24 million working hours safely. The plan is that in early December we will also carry out well testing at the Jambaran Central Well, hopefully it will go smoothly," explained Awang.
The specific kunker activity this time was attended by the Chairman of Commission VII of the DPR RI Sugeng Suparwoto and his members, the Director General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Prof. Tutuka Ariadji, representatives from the Bojonegoro Regional Government, SKK Migas Deputy Operations Julius Wiratno and the Head of SKK Migas Representative Jabanusa Nurwahidi.
