Cares for Media Professionalism, PT Pertamina EP Cepu Gathers with IJTI
Bojonegoro - In the midst of a pandemic situation that has not yet shown its edge, it does not make PT Pertamina EP Cepu (PT Pertamina EP Cepu) limited in establishing communication and friendship with its stakeholders. Like what PT Pertamina EP Cepu did this time, with information technology facilities (online-ed), PT Pertamina EP Cepu through the PGA JTB Site Office function held a virtual gathering with the Central Management of the Indonesian Television Journalists Association (IJTI) on Friday (21/01).
In this virtual gathering, both PT Pertamina EP Cepu and IJTI have the same concern, namely the creation of a healthy communication between energy industry players and media personnel. This is an important issue considering that both of them are required to always prioritize professionalism in carrying out their respective activities and functions.
Moreover, PT Pertamina EP Cepu as a company engaged in the oil and gas industry is currently the operator of one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN) in the energy sector, namely the Jambaran-Tiung Biru (JTB) Unitization Gas Field Development Project, which has various activities that also need to be known by the public. For this reason, a good communication with media stakeholders is important.
JTB Site Office & PT Pertamina EP Cepu PGA Manager, Edy Purnomo, who led his team in this virtual activity, expressed his appreciation for the relationship and communication with this central IJTI. According to Edy, even in the current pandemic situation, his party always builds good communication with its stakeholders.
"We have good relations with media personnel, both those who are members of professional organizations and those who are not. We all know that IJTI as one of the official forums for journalists in Indonesia certainly has a strategic role in carrying out its functions. We express our gratitude to IJTI colleagues who So far, he has been active in providing various education both to partners and to journalists themselves," explained Edy.
Meanwhile, the virtual gathering was attended by the Chairman of the IJTI Advisory Council, Imam Wahyudi, General Chairperson of IJTI Yadi Hendriana, Secretary General of IJTI Indria Purnama Hadi and other administrators. Imam Wahyudi who is also a former member of the Press Council for the second period of 2013 - 2019 provided support for the establishment of a healthy relationship between the media and their sources. In the case of PT Pertamina EP Cepu, which has been actively participating in supporting media capacity building through various activities including the Journalist Competency Test, Imam Wahyudi also appreciated this.
"We are very concerned about issues concerning the professionalism of journalists in carrying out their journalistic work. What PT Pertamina EP Cepu has done deserves to be appreciated. At IJTI, we also consistently provide training and increase the competence of journalists throughout Indonesia. This is all we do so that all parties, both resource persons and the media, hold each other's professionalism," said IWY.
Meanwhile, on the same occasion the Secretary General of IJTI, Indria Purnama Hadi hopes that PT Pertamina EP Cepu can continue to play a role in providing support for increasing the capacity of journalists as has been done so far. According to Indria, the results of this kind of effort are not immediately visible, but it takes time and consistency. "With the professionalism of the media, of course, the community will benefit as the main target of the journalistic work objective itself, because the information produced by the media is all in accordance with the rules of the press and obeys the journalistic code of ethics," he explained.
