BOJONEGORO – In carrying out its operations, PT Pertamina EP Cepu (PT Pertamina EP Cepu) is fully committed to upholding the safety of every employee. Based on this, together with their partners, Pertamina Drilling Service Indonesia (PDSI), Pertamina Drilling Contractor (PDC) and other service companies conducted emergency response training activities, on (10/9).
This Emergency Response Exercise has a gas kick scenario when drilling operations are being carried out. There were no fatalities in this drilling technique, but there was one worker named Sugiarto or SG, who was known to have suffered head injuries due to a collision. He suffered a collision, because he was shocked to hear the news of the gas kick, then fell and hit his head on the floor. The PDSI and PT Pertamina EP Cepu medical teams examined him and evacuated him to the Gas Processing Facility Field Clinic to be referred to Premier Surabaya Hospital by helicopter.
In this emergency response exercise, PT Pertamina EP Cepu also involved the Muspika, the Security Apparatus and the Village Government around the drilling operation area, such as Bandungrejo Village, Ngasem Police and also Ngasem District.
“We formed an Incident Management Team or IMT to always be ready in case of a potential emergency.” This was stated by Dhanar Eko Prasetyo, as Manager of Drilling Operation PT Pertamina EP Cepu. Because in the oil and gas industry, this kind of emergency has the potential to occur. For this reason, for the readiness of every worker, we regularly hold training activities like this.
The exercise also involves representatives of the community around the operational area, with the aim that communication lines regarding potential emergency responses can run smoothly and without obstacles.
“PT Pertamina EP Cepu is grateful for the participation of the Ngasem Police Chief, Bandungrejo Village Head, Ngasem District Head who were involved in today’s emergency response exercise,” said Kunadi, Manager of JTB Site Office & PT Pertamina EP Cepu PGA.
According to Kunadi, his party involved community leaders around the area of operation, with the aim that communication access can run smoothly. “After all, we live side by side here. The community and PT Pertamina EP Cepu act as safety buddies, who remind each other if there is a potential that threatens each other’s safety. We also have HSE Golden Rules, namely PIP, Obey Intervention and Care if something happens -Things that threaten the safety of every worker,” he added.
“We also ask for prayers for the entire community so that the JTB Project Drilling Operation runs smoothly, on time, without incident,” he hoped.
Previously, PT. Pertamina EP Cepu (PT Pertamina EP Cepu) won the HSE Award from the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) in the 2019 Oil and Gas Operation Support Division Forum which was held in Surabaya City on Wednesday, (26/6). This award was given to PT Pertamina EP Cepu as one of the KKKS which in carrying out its business processes have been in accordance with the principles of K3, including having succeeded in maintaining the performance of health, safety and environmental protection in its operations in 2018.
In the award, PT. Pertamina EP Cepu was ranked 3rd best in the Occupational Safety Performance category. This HSE performance assessment is carried out on all Cooperation Contract Contractors (KKKS) and is in line with the SKK Migas tagline, namely towards Zero Incident.
