BOJONEGORO – As a form of support for the carbon emission reduction program and environmental preservation, PT Pertamina EP Cepu (PT Pertamina EP Cepu) planted 4,000 trembesi trees in the Bojonegoro area. Located at the Ngasem District Office, the tree planting ceremony was attended by the Head of Environmental Management at the Environmental Service, Muhayanah, SKK Migas UPP Team, Muspida Bojonegoro, PT Pertamina EP Cepu HSSE Manager Defrinaldo along with other function managers, on 19/3/2019.
According to Defrinaldo, this program is a step for PT Pertamina EP Cepu to support the government in dealing with global warming by reducing carbon emissions. “One Trembesi tree can absorb 28.5 tons of CO2 gas annually, so that widespread Trembesi planting can reduce the concentration of this gas effectively in a shorter time,” he said.
The same thing was conveyed by Kunadi, JTB Site Office & PT Pertamina EP Cepu PGA Manager. “The Trembesi tree planting program is carried out in stages in 62 suitable lands for planting as well as several locations on the village road to the Jambaran-Tiung Biru project,” he explained.
The plan is that PT Pertamina EP Cepu’s reforestation program through Trembesi Tree Planting which has started since November 2018 will end in January 2021. To achieve the target and program sustainability, PT Pertamina EP Cepu involves and increases the participation of community elements in Bojonegoro. “We continue to synergize both with the Environment Service, SKK Migas, as well as the Bojonegoro Regency Government and the community,” added Kunadi.
