Jakarta – The government c.q the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources submitted the Design Approval for the PT Pertamina EP Cepu (PT Pertamina EP Cepu) Jambaran Tiung Biru Unitization Gas Development Project (JTB) at the Oil and Gas Building, Thursday (14/12). The approval was handed over by the Director of Engineering and Environment of Oil and Gas Patuan Alfon Simanjuntak to the President Director of PT Pertamina EP Cepu Jamsaton Nababan.
With this design approval obtained, PT Pertamina EP Cepu and the implementing consortium can carry out the construction of the JTB project in accordance with engineering and installation rules, as regulated in the ESDM Ministerial Regulation Number 38 of 2017 concerning Inspection of Installation and Equipment Safety in Oil and Gas Business Activities.
PT Pertamina EP Cepu is the first KKKS to obtain design approval from the Directorate General of Oil and Gas, following the issuance of the ESDM Ministerial Regulation Number 38 of 2017.
The design review to obtain Design Approval is carried out by the JTB PT Pertamina EP Cepu Project Team in House with the Directorate General of Oil and Gas and related institutions, the design review includes compliance with oil and gas regulations, risk management, process safety systems and environmental documents, use of standards and application of good engineering principles, commitment to utilization domestic industry and the planned TKDN of goods or services or a combination.
Director of Engineering and the Environment for Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Patuan Alfon Simanjuntak said, in the process of reviewing the design, the Government had asked to increase the level of domestic components which were then included in the design approval. PT Pertamina EP Cepu is expected to do well and avoid oil and gas accidents.
“We all hope that during the construction project, please supervise properly. When it comes to oil and gas safety, avoid worker accidents. Avoid accidents or even cause harm to the public because that is what must be maintained during project development,” said Alfon.
Director of PT Pertamina EP Cepu Jamsaton Nababan on the occasion, expressed his gratitude for the support of the Directorate General of Oil and Gas in the implementation of the JTB project development. It is hoped that this project can be completed on time, on budget, on specifications and with correct results.
“It is a fortune for PT Pertamina EP Cepu that this (KKKS) is the first one (to obtain design approval) according to the Ministerial Regulation and the Law. This agreement is not limited to just this agreement, hopefully the luck will follow the JTB project and its ending from this project stage which we hope to be on time, on budget, on specs and on return (OTOBOSOR). So that what is expected by the Government for this project will be fulfilled. Not only the government (hope), but all Indonesian people from Sabang to Merauke,” said Jamsaton.
