BOJONEGORO – The commitment of PT Pertamina EP Cepu (PT Pertamina EP Cepu) in creating community economic empowerment and independence continues. After overseeing the Laying Chicken Cultivation program through the Village Owned Business (BUM Desa) with the Village Government and the Village and Community Empowerment Service in Bandungrejo Village, PT Pertamina EP Cepu held a Socialization of the BUMDes Business Unit Development Program which was attended by local residents of Ngasem Village on Friday, 14 December 2018. Located at the Ngasem Village Hall, the event was also attended by Andi Anggono as the Head of BUMDes and Munawar Kholil as the Head of the Village Consultative Body.
“The Ngasem BUMDes program is a form of PT Pertamina EP Cepu’s commitment to the community’s economic independence and is a replica of the BUMDes program that was previously implemented in Bandungrejo Village,” said Edi Arto, PT Pertamina EP Cepu Community Relations & CSR Officer who was present to provide the socialization. In the BUM Desa Bandungrejo program, PT Pertamina EP Cepu provides guidance for laying hens cultivation in order to increase the income of farmers in the area around the Jambaran-Tiung Biru (JTB) project.
The BUMDes program is a strategic effort for community empowerment based on the results of the socio-economic studio in 2013 where the main livelihoods of the Bojonegoro community around the PT Pertamina EP Cepu JTB Project are farmers and ranchers. BUMDes is seen as a very appropriate institution to accommodate the improvement of community livelihoods in a sustainable manner. Furthermore, Edi said that this program had been approved by SKK Migas.
The Ngasem BUMDes program is held in collaboration with PT Pertamina EP Cepu and the Indonesian Development of Society (IDFoS) in improving community livelihoods based on agriculture, animal husbandry and fisheries. The village unit business development program managed by PT Pertamina EP Cepu includes several stages, namely village deliberation, mapping of village asset potential, increasing knowledge and skills of BUMDes.
“This outreach is the initial stage of the Ngasem BUMDes program.
Later, PT Pertamina EP Cepu is expected to be able to support local potential-based BUMDes in Ngasem,” said Edi.
Representing Ngasem Village, Suwondo Village Head said that this program is a good initiation from PT Pertamina EP Cepu.
“We are very happy with this business unit development program, we welcome this program, especially because it is in accordance with the spirit of the Ngasem BUMDes to continue to be able to contribute more to the economic development of the village,” said Suwondo.
