JAKARTA – In order to improve basic knowledge, PT Pertamina EP Cepu (PT Pertamina EP Cepu) held a knowledge sharing about RAM (Reliability, Availability & Maintainability) in the Banyu Urip-Jambaran room, Patra Jasa building, on (5/7/2018). The event, which was attended by management and PT Pertamina EP Cepu personnel, was filled by Restoto Pramuharjo from the PT Pertamina EP Cepu Pre Production Operation function.
Restoto explained, what is meant by RAM is a method to predict the performance of the equipment owned by operating the equipment safely, with minimal costs, but can generate maximum revenue.
“In the Jambaran-Tiung Biru (JTB) project, PT Pertamina EP Cepu will use RAM analysis to predict the availability and reliability of the gas processing facility to be built, with a target of 95%,” he explained. According to Restoto, the planned RAM analysis uses software that uses the Reliability Block Diagram (RBD) method to describe the arrangement and configuration of the equipment to be installed and built at this gas processing facility.
He added that RAM analysis can also be implemented to support aspects of the Reliability and Integrity Management Strategy (RIMS) in the operation phase of an already running production facility.
“RAM analysis is a useful method in reliability engineering. To carry out this analysis, the correct data (valid) must be used in activities in the operation and maintenance phase. In addition, RAM analysis is useful in all industries, both large and small projects, and can improve business decisions by measuring losses and is useful in saving investment costs,” he concluded.
