BOJONEGORO — Bandungrejo Village holds a number of potentials for economic independence for the majority of its residents who continue to innovate. In line with this, PT Pertamina EP Cepu (PT Pertamina EP Cepu) through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program held “Training on Production and Maintenance of Production Factors in Laying Chicken Cultivation” at the Village Hall Office, on (2/18/2019). This two-day event is part of a series of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUM Desa) Business programs that PT Pertamina EP Cepu has been developing in the Bandungrejo area since 2018.
The training was also attended by the PT Pertamina EP Cepu Community Relations & CSR team Drh Suparto and the Bojonegoro Livestock Service as resource persons. This event targets BUM Desa drivers including administrators, cage children, supervisors and advisors for BUM Desa.
“This training program is an important stage in the PT Pertamina EP Cepu community empowerment program to improve knowledge, skills, and foster Bandungrejo laying hens who are able to develop and have competitiveness,” explained PGA Manager PT Pertamina EP Cepu Kunadi.
In maintaining the sustainability of the program, PT Pertamina EP Cepu realizes the importance of anticipating the challenges that may be faced by farmers. For example, the decline in egg production and the death of livestock.
“In this training, useful materials are presented to face these challenges. Starting from making alternative feeds, keeping the cage clean, maintaining the health of livestock, to increasing egg production and keeping egg quality stable,” added Kunadi.
According to him, since the beginning of program implementation, PT Pertamina EP Cepu has always developed synergy with the Regional Government and farmer groups.
In addition, to maximize education for breeders, PT Pertamina EP Cepu presents excellent resource persons including Veterinarian Suparto and the Bojonegoro Livestock Service.
“Later on, after participating in the training program, the activists of the BUMDes for Laying Chicken Cultivation in Bandungrejo are expected to have the ability to make alternative feeds, be able to provide proper treatment and care for laying hens, and be able to maintain the production factors of laying hens cultivation,” said Kunadi.
The Head of Bandungrejo Sapani appreciated the implementation of the PT Pertamina EP Cepu training event. “Hopefully with this training in the future, the management of laying hens by BUMDesa Bandungrejo production will increase and be well managed. As the JTB project progresses, hopefully the economic independence of laying hens will continue to be maintained,” said Sapani.
In addition to fostering CSR programs, PT Pertamina EP Cepu carries out its business processes in supporting national energy independence and in 2018 contributed 25% of national crude oil production through the Banyu Urip Field. PT Pertamina EP Cepu is also the operator of the Jambaran Tiung Biru project which will produce gas of 315 MMSCFD and an on-stream target in 2021 with gas sales of 192 MMSCFD. In carrying out its business processes, PT Pertamina EP Cepu will be committed to continuing to actively contribute to community development, especially around the Bojonegoro area.
