BOJONEGORO – PT Pertamina EP Cepu (PT Pertamina EP Cepu) together with the NGO Institute Development of Society (IDOFS) held a Socialization of the Agroforestry Program Based on Forest Utilization with the Community at the Griya Dharma Kusuma Hotel on Thursday, (31/10).
Referring to Law no. 23 of 2009 concerning Environmental Management and Protection and Government Regulation No. 28 of 1985 on forest protection, Minister of Environment and Forestry No. P.83/MENLHK/SETJEN/KUM.1/10/2016 concerning social forestry and Minister of Environment and Forestry No. P.83/MENLHK/SETJEN/KUM.1/6/2017 Social forestry in the working area of Perum Perhutani.
The regulation provides opportunities for villagers around the forest for their residents to manage and conserve the forest and its environment through the Forest Village Community Institution (LMDH) or Forest Farmers Group (KTH) entity.
According to Kunadi, JTB Site Office & PGA Manager, that this program will develop the community around the JTB Project operations through the implementation of community development programs.
“We have a commitment to contribute to efforts to improve community welfare and improve environmental sustainability, especially forest sustainability in an effort to contribute to reducing carbon emissions in Bojonegoro,” explained Kunadi.
Attending the socialization activity were Puguh Head of Forest Resources for KPH Bojonegoro, Lugianto, Asper BKPH Clangap, Wulyono, KRPH Sawit Rejo, PT Pertamina EP Cepu Representative, Edi Arto, Tuti, Head of Environmental Conservation & Rehabilitation of DLH and Sumantri from Bojonegoro DPMD.
In this program, IDFOS will escort the community to prepare the land, train the procedures for caring for longan plants, planting, 6-month assistance for 1500 longan trees in an area measuring 6 hectares in the Perhutani area.
