Pertamina EP Cepu Equips Bojonegoro Youth with Skills

BOJONEGORO – Pertamina EP Cepu has again made efforts to increase the capacity of the youth around the Jambaran Tiung Biru (JTB) project by providing certified training through the Oil and Gas Industry Skills Training and Certification Program. This training includes riggers, scaffolders, and occupational health and safety (K3) operators. Previously, in 2014 and 2016, PT Pertamina EP Cepu also carried out similar activities by producing welders, pipefitters and mobile crane operators who were absorbed in the oil and gas industry.

In collaboration with the Banyuurip Bangkit Community Information and Communication Institute (LIMA 2B), the Bojonegoro Department of Industry and Manpower (Disperinaker), and the Cepu Human Resources Development Center (PPSDM), this program targets 75 youth out of 120 youths who have passed the selection test for trained at PPSDM Cepu. This collaboration is also a form of implementation of regional regulation (Perda) number 23 of 2011 concerning local content.

On that occasion, PT Pertamina EP Cepu PGA & Relations Manager Kunadi said that this training program is not a labor recruitment process for the JTB project, but rather prepares the youth around the project area to be better prepared to face opportunities and competition in the wider world of work. “By continuing to spread kindness to the surrounding community, this is a social investment for us so that we can support the company’s sustainable operations,” said Kunadi.
