Bojonegoro – Dozens of workers of PT Pertamina EP Cepu (PT Pertamina EP Cepu) together with Forest Village Communities who are members of the Natural Volunteer Service for Forest Rehabilitation with the Community are enthusiastically planting trees in the KPS (Local Protection Area) area of Perhutani plots 53-54 in Bandungrejo Village, Ngasem District, Bojonegoro, East Java on Friday (09/04).
This Forest Rehabilitation Service volunteer with the community is part of the Agroforestry Program, which is one of the community development programs initiated by PT Pertamina EP Cepu (PT Pertamina EP Cepu) and has received approval from SKK Migas.
This program involves IDfoS Indonesia, a local NGO engaged in community empowerment as well as the active role and participation of forest land cultivators who are members of the LMDH (Forest Village Community Institution) as program beneficiaries.
Volunteers for Natural Forest Rehabilitation with the Community, which were carried out from this morning until this afternoon, have planted 200 longan trees, which are part of the program to plant 2,500 longan trees since this program was launched in 2019.
According to JTB Site Office & PT Pertamina EP Cepu PGA Manager Edy Purnomo, this planting involves the active participation of forest farming communities so that later they will be able to keep the trees growing and developing properly. Apart from rehabilitating forests, this program also aims to improve the economy of rural communities. Because, the selected plant is a plant that produces economically.
“This is our commitment to contribute to environmental sustainability so that the environment around us can be maintained so that it becomes sustainable, as well as this program is expected to provide support for sustainable community economic improvement,” said Edy.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Head of KPH Administration Bojonegoro Dewanto who was present at the Volunteer Service for Nature activity greatly appreciated the activities carried out by PT Pertamina EP Cepu with the forest village community. With a program like this, his party feels very helpful because the area that has been experiencing a lack of reforestation has received community participation with these volunteers.
“We are very grateful and appreciate this activity, because in addition to providing maintenance of the area, this can boost the community’s economy. Activities like this can certainly make Bojonegoro shady, calm and productive,” he said.
Present at this Nature Service Volunteer activity included representatives from SKK Migas Jabanusa, Forestry Service Branch (CDK), KPH Perhutani Bojonegoro, DLH, Muspika Ngasem and LMDH Rimba Tani Bandungrejo which consisted of forest farmers from Bandungrejo Village.
This activity is also a means of campaigning for environmental conservation and concern for forest farmers. It is hoped that a program like this will be able to have an impact on increasing public awareness of the importance of protecting forests, especially in areas that need to be conserved such as Local Protected Areas (KPS).
