Overall, the preventive steps taken by PT Pertamina EP Cepu in anticipating the spread of the Covid-19 virus include inviting workers to care about personal hygiene and health by paying attention to the surrounding environment, which is outlined in the form of pamphlets and bulletins. In addition, it also screens workers who are rotating or going in and out of the project area, taking body temperature measurements, distributing hand sanitizers and multivitamins to workers, as well as implementing working from home for workers who feel their body conditions are not fit, workers who are over 50 years old. and workers who are pregnant/breastfeeding. As well as increasing the number of facilities for hand washing placed in strategic locations in the JTB construction project area.
According to HSSE Manager, Defrinaldo, this implementation aims to avoid the risk of exposure to Covid-19 in the workplace.
“So if you feel unfit, workers should rest at home, and that is actually very helpful so that the person concerned can rest and recover his immune system. In addition, it is recommended for workers not to use public transportation such as buses, KRL, Taxis, Online Taxis and Online Ojeks.” he added.
