Bojonegoro (19/07) – The health crisis that is currently engulfing the world is still ongoing. Some countries are even still facing high numbers of confirmed corona spreads in the first phase. Including Indonesia, which is currently experiencing an increase in daily confirmed cases, it is still high. And East Java Province is the area with the highest distribution in Indonesia. This certainly has an impact on various sectors of people’s lives, especially in the field of economy and food security for the people who have experienced quite hard shocks.
In response to this, PT Pertamina EP Cepu (PT Pertamina EP Cepu) as a PSC who has a working area in Bojonegoro Regency, East Java again paid attention to the impact of this pandemic from the economic side of the community around its operational area by visiting partners who are already running empowerment programs. Although prior to the PT Pertamina EP Cepu pandemic, PT Pertamina EP Cepu routinely and consistently carried out community economic empowerment programs, in the midst of this pandemic situation PT Pertamina EP Cepu felt the need to revisit the field by involving external parties to make visits to the target communities so that they could synergize better in the future.
This CSR/PPM program itself has actually been initiated by PT Pertamina EP Cepu since before the development of the Jambaran Tiung Biru gas field began, one of which is the batik product diversification program to 5 groups of batik craftsmen which have been started since 2014 and have been able to be independent until now. Another community empowerment program in the economic field that has succeeded in improving the livelihoods of the community around the PT Pertamina EP Cepu operation area is the laying hens cultivation program. The program, which started in 2017, is one of the business units of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes), which until now continues to increase, even in the economic crisis situation due to this pandemic. There are 3 BUMDes that make laying hens their business unit, namely; BUMDes Makmur Rejo in Bandungrejo Village, BUMDes Bumi Makmur in Dolokgede Village and BUMDes Cakra Mandiri in Kacangan Village. Cultivation of laying hens is the choice because the egg commodity which is a basic need of the community is in great demand by the market. The large number of orders and good production so far have made the members of this business group grateful because they were able to overcome the economic crisis with their laying hens.
