Bojonegoro – The JTB project is highly reliable for the fulfillment of gas energy in the East Java region. For this reason, the operation of the Jambaran-Tiung Biru (JTB) Unitization Field Gas Development Project is expected to supply the gas needs. This was conveyed by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Arifin Tasrif during a working visit to the JTB Project operated by PT Pertamina EP Cepu (PT Pertamina EP Cepu) located in Bandungrejo Village, Ngasem District, Bojonegoro, East Java on Thursday (22/04).
The progress of the JTB project work so far has shown significant results. At least until now, overall it has reached more than 89 percent.
During a working visit, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and their entourage also directly monitored the JTB project. Not only that, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources also received a detailed explanation regarding the project by Pertamina’s management.
Even though it is the fasting month, the workers in the field are still enthusiastic to work and work. This can be seen from several production facilities in JTB which are increasingly complete. Such as the installation of high-tech processing pipes and tubes, to other supporting facilities such as dormitory buildings. The obstacle that was experienced was the process of fabricating the tools and sending them from abroad. Moreover, there had been an increasing wave of pandemics abroad, which also affected the domestic schedule. However, PT Pertamina EP Cepu and its partner, the RJJ Consortium, always work hand in hand to find creative solutions to complete this project even though it is still in a prolonged pandemic period. One solution is to increase the number of workers who go to the field to complete several jobs whose components are already available domestically. Everything is done in parallel while still implementing health protocols in a disciplined manner.
According to PT Pertamina EP Cepu President Director Awang Blueuardi who gave a direct presentation to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, during this pandemic, his party effectively utilizes every time they have to catch up on certain sectors by achieving more progress in other sectors, so that the overall project is still on track according to the target. . “Overall, we still have a sufficient difference in progress even though there are some parts that have not arrived, but we are optimistic that the on-stream target will be achieved on schedule,” said Awang
“With a working visit from the Minister and the Managing Director of Pertamina and other management, of course, it will provide more moral support and directive support that can accelerate the work of this project,” added Awang.
The JTB project itself is one of the National Strategic Projects for the energy sector that has been established by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo in 2020. The project was originally set to go on stream in November this year. It is hoped that the gas produced later will be able to support the fulfillment of gas needs for the East Java and Central Java regions, in order to achieve national energy sovereignty.
The JTB Gas Unitization Field will generate gas sales of 192 MMSCFD from 6 production wells and has reserves of 2.5 trillion TFC. In a trial of production wells conducted by the drilling team some time ago, each well showed quite encouraging results, which were above the set target.
During this working visit, apart from the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, he also attended the JTB Project Field. PT Pertamina (Persero) President Director Nicke Widyastuti, Bojonegoro Regent Anna Muawanah, Pertamina Upstream Subholding Director Budiman Parhusip and also ExxonMobil Indonesia President, Irtiza H.
