Pertamina Upstream Director : PT Pertamina EP Cepu Personnel Must Do Their Best

JAKARTA – Two major Pertamina EP Cepu (PT Pertamina EP Cepu) projects, namely Banyu Urip and Jambaran Tiung Biru, can become the backbone that allows PT Pertamina EP Cepu to continue to contribute positively to the holding and the nation. This was emphasized by Pertamina Upstream Director Dharmawan Samsu at the Employee Forum event held by PT Pertamina EP Cepu, in the Banyu Urip-Jambaran room, Patra Jasa Building, Jakarta, on (11/21/2018).

“Therefore, PT Pertamina EP Cepu must continue to focus, prioritize on two things, namely maintaining sustainable production with good partnerships and delivering the next cycle of feeder production from the JTB project,” he added.

In front of the entire board of directors, management team, and PT Pertamina EP Cepu workers, Dharmawan reminded PT Pertamina EP Cepu to maintain a good safety record at PT Pertamina EP Cepu.

“However, the possibility of incidents caused by human factors will always lurk. So to prevent this, we must focus on the safety aspect. All PT Pertamina EP Cepu leaders must always be on the frontline in safety leadership. Because it reflects our behavior towards what we believe in,” he said.

Dharmawan underlined, the main principle of safety is that we care for others, we must develop a culture so that other people also care for us. “The way, the leader must create a work environment that is safe from incidents, does not rule out certain business goals at the expense of the safety principle. Must speak up when you see something unsafe. Anyone who intentionally violates the safety principle must be subject to zero tolerance,” he said, giving tips.

He revealed, with the existence of several termination work areas (WKs) managed by Pertamina, in the future Pertamina has the responsibility to operate nearly 60% of national production. This means that the world’s attention to Pertamina is getting higher.

“We are the spotlight, it’s meaning that your reputation is at risk if you don’t do right. So, there is no other way for us to do our best. We are able to explain well what our work program is,” he added.

On that occasion, he also explained the principles that must be carried out by Hulu people together, namely: 1. a good safety record; 2. maintain and increase production baseline on existing assets; 3. to encourage exploration of new ventures; 4. incompancy with outside parties (Algeria & Iraq) so that we can expand; 5. synergy with subsidiaries to support the procurement of oil and gas projects (cost effective); 6. reduction of non-productive time; 7. early readiness when we have to take over WK (early access); 8. good human capital; 9. build intention (strong will); and 10. strategic engagement (able to communicate well with the media, government, or DPR).
